上古大神混元大師在仙遊問道途中，不慎被魔蛛林的千年彩蛛精吞食入腹，其弟子陸小道為解救師傅，將千年彩蛛精打死。不料彩蛛精在臨死前將全身毒液侵注到混元大師體內，混元大師從而變成了彩蛛的樣貌。為解混元大師之毒，師徒二人受鹿童仙子指點前往九仙山靈宵谷尋找月牙池，路上與一眾妖怪展開了一系列啼笑皆非的故事。
